Peach Ghost pepper (bhut jolokia)
The Peach Ghost Pepper or Peach Bhut Jolokia (also known as Ghost Chili, U-morok, Red Naga, Bih Jolokia, Naga Jolokia and Ghost Jolokia) is a hot pepper of the Capsicum Chinense species native to India, this peach ghost pepper is a specific variant, however, is the result of a hybridization created by a US grower. In 2007, the Guinness World Record certified it as the hottest pepper in the world with a value of more than 1,000,000 SHU, but it was later surpassed by the Infinity Pepper and the Naga Viper in 2011.
The peach ghost pepper fruit
It has a horn shape reaching measures of 7-10cm in length by 2-3 in width. It is an extremely spicy pepper but at the same time very tasty and aromatic, like most of the Chinense family; in particular this peach-colored variant has an exceptional taste and aroma with strong fruity aromas. Over the years, after different hybridizations, the growers have obtained different colors : Red, Chocolate, Yellow, Orange, Purple, White and Green.
