Murupi is a chili that belongs to the C. Chinense variety. It is grown in North Brazil, mainly in the Amazon area.
The fruits: their color changes according to the stage of their growth: they are light green when still immature after yellow and at the end of maturation they become a nice creamy white.
The pulp is crunchy with a lemon aftertaste, and a medium heat since its spiciness is not the highest, in the average. They are used: fresh, ground into powder (used a lot in this way to season foods) and in sauces. They can be preserved in oil.
The plant can reach 120 cm in height and width. It can withstand even low temperatures and produces many pods. There are also flowers, which have a beautiful white color like the fruits. Cultivation: Chiles take 90 to 120 days to mature.
